Net profit of the South Korean automakers Hyundai Motor in the II quarter of 2009 increased by 48,5% - up to 811.9 billion won (650 million), compared with 546.9 billion won (438 million dollars) received for same period a year earlier. This was reported in the published materials of the company today. These figures far exceeded expectations of analysts.
The Company's revenues amounted to 8.08 trillion won (6.46 billion dollars), which is 11.3% lower than in II quarter 2008, fixed at 9.11 trillion won (7.29 billion dollars). Hyundai Motor Operating profit for the reporting quarter amounted to 657.3 billion won (526 million), representing a 0.8% lower than the rate for the II quarter of 2008, amounting to 662.5 billion won (530 million U.S. dollars).
The company connects the growth of net profit for the period with growth of the profitability of their Chinese units and tax breaks, increased sales in South Korea.
